Shieldcoat's TERRABOND Clear Glaze, clear or tinted comes in 15 litre pails and is a very easy to use water based acrylic, which means it washes up in water.

Do you have a non glazed terracotta tiled roof that you would like to restore? Shieldcoat's TERRABOND Clear Glaze is designed for restoring terracotta tiled roofs. Once you follow Shieldcoat's roof restoration process you will have your the old roof back close to its original look.

How good is TERRABOND Clear Glaze?

The advantages of Shieldcoat's TERRABOND Clear Glaze is that binder (resin) used in this product has been chosen to provide excellent through film build for a extremely hard wearing high gloss quality finish. This means that TERRABOND Clear Glaze dries very hard yet still remaining slightly flexible therefore giving great longevity. The result is that TERRABOND Clear Glaze does not pick dirt, or allow dirt to build up on it easily. As a result Shieldcoat gives a 10 year warrantee on their ROOFBOND coating system.

If you have non glazed terracotta tiled roof then you will need
Shieldcoat’s SHIELDSEAL W, this will ensure a proper adhesion and longevity out of your roof coating TERRABOND Clear Glaze. Can I paint over factory glazed terracotta tiles?

Unfortunately not! At this point in time there is not a product on the market that will adhere to glazed terracotta tiles.

Is there warranty with TERRABOND Clear Glaze?

Yes, there is a 10 year warranty with TERRABOND if you have it applied by a qualified professional painter.

Is it safe to catch drinking water from a roof coated in TERRABOND Clear Glaze?

Yes, after 7 days from applying the last coat of TERRABOND Clear Glaze it is safe to collect drinking water.

If valleys and/or guttering on my roof has rust can I paint straight over it or do I need to treat it first?

You need to treat it first with Shieldcoat’s RUSTSEAL or Shieldcoat’s RUSTSHIELD W, see under the sub categories Roof Coatings or Sealers and Primers which is under the ‘Paints’ category on the left side of this page.

What kind of coverage will I get out of a 15 litre pail of TERRABOND Clear Glaze?

Yes you can use a roller to apply TERRABOND Clear Glaze, however it is designed to be applied by spray gun, as you get far superior finish due to being able to evenly apply each coat and get good build without getting runs.
